About

Main Street to McMurdo is a seven‑year documentary photography project focused on the industrial and commercial worlds that keep modern life running and moving forward: construction, heavy manufacturing, aviation, aerospace, marine, and the logistics that connect them. Metaphorically, it starts on the road out of my New England small coastal town and runs toward some of the most remote, difficult places we try to keep running.

This project isn’t about tourism or spectacle. It’s about people, systems, and work. From Main Street to McMurdo.

Much of this work is grounded in a simple idea: ask.

Ask if there’s something here worth noticing.
Ask if there’s a better angle.
Ask if you can step closer — inside, aboard.
Ask for access that feels slightly out of reach.

Not aggressively. Not theatrically.
Just clearly, respectfully, and with realistic expectations.

“Asking Up” is the discipline of aiming higher without posturing or entitlement — understanding that most opportunities begin with a question.

Sometimes the answer is no.
Sometimes it’s yes.
Either way, the work takes shape from there.
